High Quality Picture and Sound with DV Format and PCM Audio!
The GR-DVL Series of digital camcorders are designed to be the ideal introduction to the MiniDV format and its superior picture quality. Users of conventional analogue camcorders will notice a distinct difference in digital video recordings -- the MiniDV format records footage with a noticeably higher image resolution and quality of colorr reproduction than analogue video recordings. Adding special effects and scene transitions is easy during both recording and playback using the included multi-brand remote control. These cameras also offer extended multimedia connectivity through on-board ports that allow direct connection with a PC for still image transfer using the included software.
High-performance 1/4" 800,000-pixel CCD
The GR-DVL25 MiniDV camera captures high-quality video footage and digital still images thanks to a high-performance 800,000-pixel CCD image sensor. This CCD complements the high horizontal resolution (over 400 lines) and superior colour reproduction of the MiniDV format, ensuring that your favourite scenes and faces are recorded with superb clarity.
Advanced Snapshot and Motor Drive modes
Advanced Snapshot mode enables users to freeze a scene, and add a white border or even a drop-shadow pinup effect. Single, 4- or 9-frame multiscreen shots are also available. Motor Drive mode enables users to shoot a sequence of snapshots in rapid succession. The snapshot effects can also be used during playback.
16x optical zoom and 450x Super Digital Zoom with spline interpolation
A high-power 16x optical zoom lets you zoom in close when shooting. To get even closer a 450x digital zoom, with spline interpolation to smooth contours, enables users to pick out a face in the crowd. Another handy feature when zooming in for a portrait is a digital image stabiliser which helps to eliminate camera shake without affecting image quality.
2.5" amorphous-silicon colour LCD monitor
The GR-DVL25's 2.5" LCD monitor makes it easy to frame shots when shooting, and for reviewing footage after recording.
Multimedia Interface connectivity:
DV input/output (i.Link, IEEE 1394 compliant), PC (digital still) serial interface and JLIP terminal.
The connectivity options provided by the GR-DVL20/25 and the Multimedia Interface offer direct entry into the world of creative multimedia. The GR-DVL20/25's PC terminal allows direct connection to PCs for computer-controlled still image capture and video-to-video Random Assemble Editing. Using the optional HS-V4KIT JLIP Capture Pack, you can control the camera for capture of digital still images from video footage with frame precision. Once on computer, captured stills can be edited, manipulated and juxtaposed until you've polished your creative ideas to perfection.
In addition, the HS-V4KIT JLIP Capture Pack makes a range of other video-to-video editing options available. The pack's editing cable connects to the camera's multi-brand remote control to enable computerised control of most major brand VCRs*. A JVC VCR with a Remote Pause terminal can also be connected to this same J-terminal and used for video editing.
The pack includes all the essential accessories for you to get started: a PC connection cable, editing cable, JLIP Video Capture, JLIP Video Producer and Presto! Series software for Microsoft® Windows® 98 and 95.
The DV in/out terminal facilitates high-speed digital video transfer between compatible equipment, such as the GV-DT3 printer, for enhanced multimedia options.
