Since the HR-S5900AM offers Super VHS recording and playback in both PAL and NTSC 3.55, you can record PAL or NTSC programswith the highest possible resolution, and edit from a connected video source with high quality results regardless of whether it is PAL or NTSC. Easily create your own high-resolution video library consisting of local as well as American or Japanese material (Normal VHS recording and playback of MESECAM and NTSC 4.43 is also possible).

NTSC Playback on PAL TV with Hi-Fi Audio

Since you can view NTSC VHS software right on your PAL TV, complete with Hi-Fi audio soundtracks, you'll be able to easily enjoy the wider world of NTSC video entertainment. (The picture may shrink vertically. The picture may roll up or down; this may be corrected only if the TV has a V-HOLD control.)
