Yamaha's remarkable RX-V2700 is a perfect choice for audiophiles, home theater buffs, and digital entertainment lovers. This multichannel powerhouse teams up 140 watts x seven channels of high-current Yamaha power with advanced digital processing, ensuring dynamic surround sound from all your movies, TV shows, and music. The 'V2700 is packed with great features, including versatile HDMI connections and switching, PC networking, iPod® integration, and flexible three-room/three-source capability.
This receiver also offers digital video upconversion, a very cool feature that goes a step beyond analog-to-HDMI conversion. It can upgrade any non-HD video source to an HDMI digital signal with your choice of 720p or 1080i resolution, to more closely match the capabilities of your HDTV. This gives your DVDs and older video sources an exceptionally crisp, vivid look. If you don't have a TV with a digital video input, the 'V2700's component video conversion still simplifies hookup and switching.
1080p-capable HDMI switching and other video conveniences
The RX-V2700's digital video capabilities are sure to please videophiles. You get advanced 1080p-compatible HDMI switching for up to three high-definition sources — such as an HDTV receiver, digital video recorder, or an HD DVD or Blu-ray player. And thanks to analog-to-HDMI conversion you can send all video sources to your compatible television via a single HDMI cable — a very handy feature, especially if you've got a wall-mounted TV.
Easy access to PC music and Internet Radio
You get plenty of digital music options, too. Connect the 'V2700 to a wired or wireless PC network and you can access MP3 and WMA (Windows® Media Audio) files stored on your compatible computer. View track titles on your TV and select the tunes you want to hear using the receiver's remote. If you've got a broadband connection, you can also listen to Internet Radio stations.
More fun with your iPod
Yamaha offers advanced features for iPod users as well. When you add the optional Yamaha YDS-10 control dock, your iPod becomes a fully integrated component in your A/V system. You can view its menu on your TV and select songs, photos, or videos using the receiver's remote. A handy front-panel USB input lets you plug in a wide range of portable MP3 players, or even a USB flash memory drive loaded with your favorite tunes. Switch on Yamaha's special enhancement mode for compressed audio files and you're ready to enjoy your entire digital music library through your best speakers.
XM Satellite Radio compatibility
If you're a fan of XM Radio, you'll really appreciate how easily you can enjoy it with the 'V2700. Simply plug in an optional XM Mini-Tuner package and activate your XM subscription to tune in over 170 satellite radio channels. The receiver is also compatible with XM's new HD Surround channels, which deliver music in enveloping multichannel sound.
Three-room/three-source capability
The 'V2700 also lets you re-assign anywhere from two to four of its surround amplifier channels to power stereo speakers in other rooms, or even on your back porch. This lets you play three different audio sources in three different areas of your home at the same time, without the need for any additional amplifiers. You can even watch a second video source in one of your two additional listening rooms. Yamaha includes a basic second remote that, when used with an optional remote control extender system, lets you operate your system from your second or third listening room.
Easy, accurate home theater setup
Yamaha's YPAO auto-calibration system enables quick, easy, and remarkably accurate home theater setup. Plug in the included microphone and place it in your favorite seat. The 'V2700 analyzes the size, volume, relative distance, and frequency response of every speaker in your home theater, adjusting the settings for each one individually. In less than three minutes, the receiver is optimized for your specific room and speakers. An advanced on-screen display puts intuitive, easy-to-follow menus on your TV screen for simplified receiver operation and setup. And the handy learning/multibrand remote lets you control every component in your system.
