Activating Your Service:

• Put the Vodafone SIM card into your phone
• Be sure that battery is charged
• Turn on your phone and enter the PIN code (1234)
• Dial 729
• Scratch the surface of the Prepay voucher to reveal the 12 digit code
• Follow instructions and when prompted enter the 12 digit voucher code
• After confirming the 12 digit code hang up
• Start calling

Adding Talk Time:

Additional Talk time may be added by purchasing vouchers at any shop or petrol station displaying the "Prepay" logo. To redeem your voucher simply call 729 from your cell phone and confirm the 12 digit voucher code, hang up and start talking.

Alternatively, you may dial 729 and purchase talk time with your credit card.

Make sure you top up at least every 60 days (the minimum top up amount is only $20). If you forget to top up within 60 days, your unused credit will expire and you won't be able to make outgoing calls (except for emergency calls 111). However, you'll still be able to receive incoming calls.

Rates:

There are four different calling plans for your Airtel "Fórmula" prepaid SIM card. However, the "fórmula 20" is the only tariff that allows international calling so we strongly recommend that tariff. By default, the Airtel Fórmula SIM is set to the Fórmula 20 tariff.

Service Life:

Its important that you top up your Prepay account by Recharge Card or credit card every six months. If you don't, your mobile phone number will disconnect and you'll need to buy a new Prepay connection pack with a new mobile number in order to use your phone again.

Cellular coverage in New Zealand is excellent, far exceeding typical cellular coverage in the US.
