Orange Prepaid International SIM Cards for GSM cellular phones

Prepaid Orange International Prepaid SIM Cards Price: Click for Replacement

Prepaid SIM Cards Frequently Asked Questions Buyer's Guide

You'll need a GSM Phone
to go with this card!

Prepaid cellular service that works around the world!

The new Orange International SIM Card from ORANGE covers 133 countries via GSM service, and with the same SIM CARD an extra 25 countries using a satellite phone with more than 345 roaming partners, providing service in at least 158 countries total with SMS and VOICE MAIL also available, depending on carrier.

Instead of having certain minutes allocated to incoming and outgoing calls, the ORANGE card deducts credits only according to the calls you make or receive so you can't lose any credit you may have just because people didn't call you often enough or you failed to use up your outgoing minutes fully.

The basic SIM card comes with 20 Swiss Francs worth of talk-time free. More talk-time can be added to the card as detailed below in the section, "To Add More Talk Time".

Call from the US to your Overseas SIM CARD number at SUPER-LOW RATES with International Calling!

To Place a Call:

To place a call when you are outside of Switzerland, follow these steps:

  • Enter *111*
  • Enter the country dialing code
  • Enter the area code, without the 0
  • Enter the desired telephone number, followed by #
  • Finalize the process by pressing the call connection button of your phone

Important Notes:

  • All phone numbers begin with the sequence *111* and end with #
  • It is only possible to send one request at a time
  • You need to have at least CHF 10.- on your PrePay account to be able to make a call
  • Always dial the desired number in the international format, even if you want to reach a local number.

If your mobile phone is dualband, the best performing network in the area will be automatically selected for you. Your preferred network can also be set manually. Please refer to your mobile phone user guide for more information on network selection.

Emergency Number:

You can dial 112 European standard emergency number even while abroad. This number can be dialed with most mobile phones, even if the call barring service has been activated. Whenever calling the emergency numbers your Orange number will automatically be sent. Please confirm your phone number, where you are, and any other information that might help to find you.

International Dialing Codes:

Use your mobile phone abroad Your Orange mobile phone works on local networks we partner with. You can use all the services available on that network. Please contact Orange Customer Care to find out if you have any restrictions when making international calls (access to the roaming service, call restrictions, prohibitions etc.).

To Add More Talk Time:

Extra talk-time ("Recharge") minutes can be added with minutes purchased from us! To add more talk time minutes:

  • Call us and we will supply you with a recharge number within 60 seconds. Alternatively, you can contact us for a purchase by e-mail or fax. Extra talk-time is $99.95 for approximately 100 minutes.
  • On your cell phone, dial *122#. This is a toll-free call. Orange will call you back in English.
  • Answer the phone and the voice will ask you for your recharge code. Type in the code we supply you, press # and then OK (or SEND).

Extra talk-time ("Recharge") minutes can also be added outside Switzerland. To add more talk time minutes:

  • Purchase the additional talk-time minutes from us.
  • Call the following number* with the mobile-phone you want to charge up: 41-78-700-555
  • Follow the given instructions, using the talk-time code we supply you when purchasing your recharge minutes.

* Note: This is not a toll-free number, but the recharge process only takes a minute or less to complete. The number already contains the country code needed to make an international call to Switzerland (41).

Rates:

Your talk-time minutes will vary depending on what country you're in, what country you're calling to and the rates of the various service providers at the time you're calling. For example, in most European countries, calls to the USA cost about $1 per minute, but this can go up to $2 to $3 per minute when making a call to or from a Third World country.

Calling while in North America can be very costly, so we don't advise regular use except for emergency purposes. However, it is ideal for foreign visitors who need a cell phone for temporary use in North America since there is no contract, no billing, no statements and no credit checks. Whether they are in the US, Canada, or Mexico, they are under no obligation at all when they return home.

Important Information:

Please make sure your cell phone's NETWORK SELECTOR is set to 900/1800Mhz when using the phone outside North America, and is set to 1900MHz when in North America. You can change the network setting via the MENU on your phone.

Your ability to make or receive calls will always depend on the local service provider's ability to offer a solid signal. Other issues that may affect cell phone reception include satellites, routers, spotty signal strength within buildings, etc.

Orange is a member of the GSM Association, which brings together 567 operators worldwide. As such, and to give you a simple and transparent view of the international roaming charges, we would like to make you aware of the following facts:

  • Receipt of SMS is free of charge.
  • When people call you on your Orange number when you are abroad, you are charged for the international part of the call, between Switzerland and the country you are visiting. This charging principle applies for all mobile operators, due to the fact that the caller may not know you are abroad and it would not be fair to charge them for the international part of the call. The charging interval is per minute for all operators.
  • When near the borders of Switzerland or Liechtenstein, or by lakes or mountains, your phone may automatically connect to a German, Italian, Austrian or French network. If this happens, you will be charged the price for that zone. To avoid this, manually select the Orange network.
  • National and local free phone numbers (0800-) are not accessible from abroad for PrePay.
