Activating Your Service

The Argentina cellular phone number is located on a white sticker, in the cellophane SIM card packaging. The cell phone number will begin “TE: 15…”.

• Travel to Argentina
• Set your cell phone to the GSM 1900 or 850/1900 frequency
• Insert the Argentina SIM chip into the cellular phone*
• Be sure the battery on your international cell phone is charged
• Turn on your phone
• Enter PIN code (default 1234)^
• Dial: * 1 5 0
• Start calling**

Customer service for your Argentina prepaid SIM card is available 24 hr./day by dialing *111 at any time from your Argentina cellular phone.

*You may need to snap out the thumbnail sized Argentina SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the Argentina SIM card into your international cell phone with the gold contacts of the Argentina SIM card facing the metal contacts of your international cellular phone.

^ Your Argentina SIM card may require a 4-digit PIN code found in your paperwork. The PUK is only required to unblock you phone if you enter in a PIN code incorrectly 3x. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.

**When calling overseas from the United States to your Argentina cellular phone number callers will need to dial 011 followed by the country code 54 9 11 and then your Argentina, omitting the leading 15 digits of your cell phone number. To call overseas from your Argentina cellular phone simply dial 00 (or the ‘+’ key) followed by the country code and phone number.

Adding Talk Time

The Telecom Personal SIM card will include AR$15 preloaded. Additional credit is available through the purchase of airtime vouchers. Airtime vouchers are available in AR$ 10 denominational increments up to a maximum of AR$100 ($35).

Once you purchase a voucher simply scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your voucher code. When punched into the keypad of your international cell phone the voucher code will credit your SIM card the respective denomination you purchased.

Airtime vouchers are available locally, in Argentina, at convenience stores, petrol stations and Telecom Movilcarga outlets.

Remember: Do not purchase another SIM card when your airtime credit is depleted! Your only need a recharge voucher! And your incoming calls are always free even when you run out of airtime.

Simple way to check your remaining airtime balance on your Argentina SIM card Dial *150 from your mobile phone to listen to your remaining call credit.

Domestic Rates

Domestic rates are per minute for outgoing calls within Argentina using the Argentina SIM card while you are in Argentina. All incoming calls on your Argentina cell phone regardless of where they originate are FREE. All calls are billed in 30-seond increments. Rates below are per minute.

International Rates

Making International calls from your world cell phone has never been easier with your prepaid Argentina SIM card. All rates are per minute for international outgoing calls from a Argentina prepaid SIM card within Argentina. All calls are billed in 30-seond increments. Rates below are per minute.

GPRS data connectivity is available with your prepaid SIM card at a very reasonable AR$0.05 /kbyte, however a GPRS compatible phone is required. Contact customer service in Argentina for GPRS parameters.

Service Life:

If you do not recharge your account within 8-Months, your SIM card and phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime credit will be forfeit. Every time you subsequently add airtime the validity of your SIM card will be extended for 8-months. If you do not subsequently recharge your account within 8-Months then your SIM card and phone number will be recycled and any remaining airtime credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card. When you add a voucher you can travel safely and use your cell phone for another 8 months.
